Pai Gow Poker - Online Poker Game
Pai Gow Poker, as the name implies, is a card game but
with a much different strategy than you might be used to
in the game of poker. This casino table game involves
seven cards being dealt to each player, from an
automatic shuffle machine, after they have made their
wager. The player then divides their cards into a five
card hand and a two card hand. The five card hand must
outrank the two card hand or the player will
automatically lose their bet due to a foul. Only a win
on both hands, for either the banker or player, will
result in an exchange of money. A win on one hand and a
loss on the other hand results in a tie. The deck also
contains a joker but it has a limited use. The joker can
be used to complete a straight or flush. Otherwise it is
considered to be an ace.
Pai Gow Poker is a game for the casinos, adapted from
some old Chinese dominoes game. In other words, if you
ask twenty people how to play Pai Gow Poker at the Home
Poker table, you won't get the same answer twice. What
follows are different ways that Pai Gow can be played at
a home game.
Computer technology has made much advancement in recent
years, the field of computer graphics being one of the
fastest growing, and online pai gow poker has become
very popular very quickly because of this. This makes
online pai gow poker so much more like the version you
find in land-based casinos. Though the traditional
hands-on card game will never disappear, the computer
screen and mouse version is really starting to gain some
ground.
How to Play Online Pai Gow Poker
Playing Pai Gow poker is a great way to enjoy your time
at a casino without having to worry too much about your
card playing skills. Since in Pai Gow poker you are
allowed to ask the dealer to set your hand for you, all
that really matters is whether you are dealt a better
hand than the dealer is.
Place your bet: Begin the Pai Gow Poker game by placing
your wager. Choose from five chip denominations: $1, $5,
$10, $25 and $100. In Pai Gow Poker you are betting on
your High and Low hands winning over the dealer's hands.
Cards dealt: In Pai Gow Poker you will be dealt seven
cards face-up. The dealer will receive seven cards
face-down. The dealer's cards will not be revealed until
you have finished your action.
Player action: Split your cards into two separate hands:
High hand and Low hand. Your High hand must consist of
five cards and contain your best ranking poker hand.
Your Low hand must consist of two cards and be lower in
rank than your High hand. The online Pai Gow Poker game
will not allow you to create a Dead Hand (a Low hand of
higher value than a High hand).
Dealer action: The dealer's hand will be arranged in a
High and Low hand as well. The dealer's hand will be
divided according to Fair Way Rules. Please see the Pai
Gow Poker Rules section for details. At this time, the
dealer's hands will be revealed.
